Anabarbie wins at start three
Friday
18 February, 2011: Well bred Anabaa three year-old Anabarbie broke her
maiden at start three for a large number of Ontrack Thoroughbreds owners.
Prepared at the Gold Coast by in form trainer Trevor Bailey, Anabarbie was
resuming from a spell today on a slow track.
With Mauritius bound hoop Michael Cahill in the saddle, Anabarbie travelled
nicely in the race in the third position before being forced wide on the
turn.
Anabarbie ($3.20) knuckled down nicely in the straight to get the better of
the well supported Contessa Belle ($1.70 fav) to score a fighting long head
win.
Anabarbie is out of the Kennys Best Pal mare Beach Barbie, a half sister to
the dam five time Group 1 winner Racing To Win.
An attractive black filly, Anabarbie was purchased by Ontrack Thoroughbreds
out of the 2009 Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale from the Emerald
Thoroughbreds draft.
Part owners Gary and Marcel Pepper made the long trip from their South
Australian home at Port Augusta to witness the win.
