Doonbah Star Dominates Big Maiden

Thursday 25 September, 2008: The Trevor Bailey prepared Doonbah Star was a scintillating victor in today’s $30,000 Big Maiden (1200m) at Lismore.

A particularly good looking son of Glenlogan Park stallion Falvelon, Doonbah Star bounced straight to the front before careering away for a widening five and quarter length victory.

Prior to his Lismore win, Doonbah Star was a solid second at the Gold Coast on a Slow track.

Appreciating the firmer Lismore surface, Doonbah Star carved out an impressive time of 1:10.75 for the time honoured Lismore maiden on a Dead track rating.

Doonbah Star is raced and bred by a partnership headed by Ray Collins and Brian Farrell

Doonbah Star is out of the Marscay mare Star Tumble

Since producing Doonbah Star, Star Tumble has visited Falvelon on another 3 occasions.

A year younger full brother to Doonbah Star will also be prepared by Trevor Bailey for the partnership.
