Dubai World Cup on the calendar for 2012
By Grant Morgan

Monday 20 June, 2011: Joining Royal Ascot on our 2012 tour roster will be the Dubai World Cup (March 2012). We took the opportunity to visit Dubai on our way to Royal Ascot.

Together with Zeppelin Travel’s Andi Zon Zeppelin, we inspected several of Dubai’s top hotels during our stay.

Our visits included an inspection of the palatial six star Burj Al Arab and its various dining options which were headed by the beautiful Al Muntaha restaurant on the 27th floor and the underwater experience of the Al Mahara.

Afternoon tea at Sahn Eddar was another highlight of our memorable visit to Buj Al Arab.

We also inspected another top dining establishment in At.mosphere, which is located on the 122nd floor of the world famous Burj Khalifa.

The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building and is located in the centre of downtown Dubai.

Below the Burj Khalifa is the Dubai Mall, home to hundreds of designer shops, an aquarium and icerink. Certainly one for the ladies on our tour!

The main part of our Dubai stopover was a visit to Meydan Racecourse where we completed a site inspection of the various suites and corporate dining options available to us for Dubai World Cup meeting.

The base for our short Dubai stay was the beautiful Madinat Jumeirah which is located on Jumeirah Beach, adjacent to the Burj Al Arab.

The Jumeirah Group is owned by Sheikh Mohammed, and it boasts some of the best hotels in Dubai and now around the world.

The Madinat Jumeirah has a distinct Middle Eastern feel which is both warm and luxurious, whilst boasting a seaside beach feel.

I’m certain our inaugural Dubai tour in March 2012 will be one to remember. Details available soon.
