Faster Son Scores Debut Cup Day Win

Tuesday 3 November, 2009: Fastnet Rock three year-old Faster Son scored an impressive debut win at the Gold Coast on Melbourne Cup day.

Syndicated by Ontrack Thoroughbreds, Faster Son was selected by Grant Morgan at the 2008 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.

Prepared by in form Gold Coast trainer Trevor Bailey, Faster Son gave backers some concern in running after being trapped wide throughout.

When balanced up in the straight, Faster Son let down powerfully to score a convincing two and half length win.

He covered the 1200m journey in a good time of 1:10.15, last 600m in 35.62.

Faster Son was ridden by Terry Triechel who landed four winners on the eight race Gold Coast card.

Faster Son is out of the Palace Music mare Sonata, who was runner up in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks.

Owned by wide range of clients spread throughout Australia, Faster Son’s part owners all have diverse backgrounds.

They include a large group of Virgin Blue staff who part own Faster Son under the banner of the TCB syndicate, headed by Paul Holloway.
