Saturday 31 December, 2011:
Smart
sprinter Faster Son is settling in well with new trainer Mick Price.
Faster Son was transferred to Price’s Caulfield stables upon the
recommendation of previous trainer Trevor Bailey after a wayward effort in
his most recent appearance in Brisbane.
The son of Fastnet Rock finished a disappointing eleventh in the Keith Noud
Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm on 26 November.
“He did everything wrong in the race, lay in, lay out and get on the wrong
leg. After that Trevor said it might be best to try him back the Melbourne
way of going," said Ontrack Thoroughbreds Grant Morgan.
“We know he races well the Melbourne way of going having won the Mitty’s Cup
(1200m) at Caulfield and a midweek race at Sandown over 1000m.”
Faster Son is scheduled to trial at Caulfield on Tuesday the 10th
of January before returning to the races under Price.
Faster Son has won 6 races from 15 starts and over $156,000 in prize money.
