Gold Coast Guineas for Faster Son
Saturday 17 April, 2010:
Impressive three year-old Faster Son will be aimed at the Group 3 Gold Coast
Guineas following a blistering five and a half length victory at the Gold
Coast.
The Fastnet Rock gelding started a hot $1.30 favourite, but gave backers no
reason for concern.
Partnered by Dan Griffin, Faster
Son went straight to the lead before widening his lead to record a runaway
victory.
Faster Son recorded a class record time of 1:09.07, with his final 600m an
impressive 33.67.
Trainer Trevor Bailey will now target the $150,000 Group 3 Gold Coast
Guineas (1200m) at the Gold Coast on May 8.
Faster Son has won 3 of his 4 career starts, and was selected by Grant
Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds at the 2008 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.
Meanwhile Coolmore Stud has announced
the 2010 service fee for Faster Son's sire Fastnet Rock.
The Group 1 winning son of Danehill will cover this spring at $137,500.
This more than doubles Fastnet Rock's 2009 service fee of $60,500.
