September, 2010:
Gold Coast based committee
member Grant Morgan is the new President of the Queensland Racehorse Owners
Association following the annual election of executive committee members.
The thirty six year-old Morgan joined the QROA committee two years ago.
Morgan operates Ontrack Thoroughbreds and provides bloodstock, media and
marketing consultancy for the racing and breeding industry.
“The fact I’m fortunate enough to have made a full time career in racing
for the past 15 years gives me an advantage in a role like this,” said
Morgan.
“So many people find it hard to devote time to associations like this as
racing is normally a hobby for most and their full time jobs must
understandably take priority.
“For me there is a good overlap in many of my current activities and I look
forward to enhancing the association and working on behalf of all Queensland
owners.”
Kerrina King and Simon Quinn have been elected to fill the two Vice
President positions, whilst Jeff Leaver continues as Treasurer.
Matthew Stapleton and Michael Grieve continue their positions on the
committee, whilst Jennie Bartels and Eric Quinn are new members.
The next QROA raceday event will be held at the Gold Coast Turf Club in ‘The
Boardroom’ on Saturday 2 October, 2010. Tickets are available by visiting
the website: www.qroa.com.au .
