Harada Bay scores impressive Gosford win

View Video Replay

Wednesday 25 April, 2012:
Haradasun two year-old Harada Bay has won his second start at Gosford in impressive style.

Harada Bay is the second winner out of the recently established Newcastle stable of former Gold Coast trainer Trevor Bailey.

Ridden by former leading Gold Coast apprentice Matthew Palmer, Harada Bay showed good speed from his wide barrier, before covering ground to the turn.

When balanced up in the straight, the big striding chestnut gelding gathered in leader Audible who looked to of stolen a winning break on the turn. Despite doing plenty of work in the run, Harada Bay was strong on the line to score a widening 1.5 len winning margin over the 1100m course.

Harada Bay was selected and purchased by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds for a group of long term clients.

The chestnut son of Coolmore Stud stallion Haradasun was an $80,000 yearling buy from the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Harada Bay was bred by prominent New Zealand breeder Dr Alan Jackson who offered the colt through the draft Hunter Valley farm The Old Crossing.

Harada Bay is the second first crop winner for Haradasun, a three time Group 1 winner of the AJC Doncaster Hcp, Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes and the STC George Ryder Stakes.

Congratulations to shareholders Danny Lesjak, Rob Bennett, Keith Ferrel, Kingsley Peach, Anthony Barbieri, Steve & Helen Carter, Mark Snowden, Michael and Karen Sparkes, Ty Wagstaff, John Carr, William Robinson, Ron & Desmond Andrews.
