Impressive First Up Win For Faster Son
Saturday 27 March, 2009:
Fastnet Rock three year-old Faster Son has
resumed in strong fashion scoring a runaway victory today at the Gold Coast.
The Trevor Bailey prepared gelding made it two wins from three starts in
Class 1 company over 1200m on his home track.
Jumping from a wide alley, Faster Son worked early before crossing to the
lead with premiership winning jockey Dan Griffin in the saddle.
Straightening for home, Griffin asked Faster Son to extend and he displayed
an impressive turn of foot to dash away to score a 4.5 length victory.
Faster Son’s time of 1:09.89 was marginally outside the class record, whilst
he recorded a slick 34.41 for his final 600m.
Faster Son is likely to race again at the Gold Coast on Saturday 17 April in
a Three Year-old Handicap (1200m).
His next target then maybe the $125,000 Group 3 Heinrich Gold Coast Guineas
(1200m) also at the Gold Coast on Saturday the 8th of May.
Faster Son was selected and purchased by Grant Morgan of Ontrack
Thoroughbreds, from the 2008 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.
