Impressive debut win for Jet Spur Colt

Monday 19 July 2010: Attractive Jet Spur two year-old Flying Minstrel lived up to his looks by scoring a widening three and half length debut victory at the Sunshine Coast yesterday.

The Trevor Bailey prepared colt bounced straight to the front for Ric McMahon, showing brilliant early acceleration to lead the field of 14.

Straightening for home, Flying Minstrel ($2.60) lengthened nicely to cruise away for an effortless victory in a time of 58.32 for the 1000m journey.

Flying Minstrel was purchased privately by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds for a group of clients.

Flying Minstrel is eligible for rich bonuses as a QTIS/600 and QTIS qualified horse, with yesterday’s first prize cheque totalling $20,500.

Aside from being eligible for QTIS bonuses, Flying Minstrel was also qualified for Magic Millions after being re-purchased by his current connections at the 2009 July Thoroughbred Sale.
