Ontrack New Zealand Tour Concludes
Friday
5 December, 2008: A group of 25 people enjoyed the lush green surrounds
of New Zealand on the recently concluded Ontrack Thoroughbreds Tour.
The tour was co-hosted by Ontrack’s Grant Morgan, Sky Channel’s Steve
Hawkins and Women In Racing’s Jennie Bartels.
The group visited five studs, Cambridge Stud, Westbury Stud, Rich Hill Stud,
Waikato Stud and Windsor Park Stud.
The four night five day tour used two bases during the tour.
The first two nights were at the fabulous Sebel Suites, right on Auckland
Harbour.
The second stage of the tour was two nights at the Novotel Tainui at
Hamilton, right
on the banks of the Waikato river.
One of the highlights of the tour was a raceday at Ellerslie, where the
group dined in the exclusive Chairman’s Club.
During the stay, the group enjoyed some wonderful food and great New Zealand
wine at some of New Zealand’s finest dining establishments.
These included Kermadec and Soul Bar and Bistro, both in the heart of the
Viaduct Harbour restaurant precinct.
The team at New Zealand Bloodstock also made sure our stay was enjoyable.
NZB’s Victoria Vela, James Jennings and Bruce Slade showed the group around
Karaka before a delicious lunch at the sales complex.
Tour party members came from near and far, flying with Emirates.
Guests travelled from as far away as Papua New Guinea, Melbourne and Sydney
to be involved in the tour.
They joined a strong representation from Queensland with visitors from
Toowoomba, Dulacca and Brisbane.
The next Ontrack Thoroughbreds Tour will head to Melbourne in March which
features ‘Super Saturday’ racing action at Flemington.
Details of the Melbourne Tour will be available on the Ontrack Thoroughbreds
Website by Friday 19 December, 2008.
