Tuesday
12 January, 2011:
One of the most sort
after colts of the Magic Millions sale has been secured by Ontrack
Thoroughbreds.
The Jet Spur colt from Belvedere (lot 15) was knocked down to Grant Morgan
of Ontrack Thoroughbreds for $170,000.
Offered by leading Queensland farm Glenlogan Park, the colt had a host of
admirers.
The under bidder was prominent Gold Coast owner Hoss Heinrich, with leading
trainers Paul Messara, John O'Shea and Liam Birchley all in the hunt.
"I thought he was one of the best colts on type in the sale, and obviously
so did quiet a few others," said Grant Morgan.
"Whilst I tought we might have paid a bit much at the time for him, as the
sale went on, I think he ended up being good value.
The colt will be prepared by leading Eagle Farm trainer Rob Heathcote.
"If you want to race in Queensland its becoming almost essential to buy
QTIS/QTIS 600 eligible yearlings to race for the big prizemoney on offer.
"Colts like these bred in Queensland give you the best opportunity as owners
to maximise your return.
