Party
Lines Loves it Wet
Monday
23 June, 2008:
The recent wet spell in South East Queensland hasn’t interrupted the
progress of handy three year-old Party Lines.
The Trevor Bailey prepared colt made it back to back heavy track wins by
scoring at the Gold Coast last Saturday in the final event over 1200m.
Owned
by Emerald businessman Terry Ray, Party Lines is by Coolmore stud stallion
Mull of Kintyre out of the Sanction mare Sunny Ray.
Party Lines is now the winner of three races from eight starts, with his
maiden win coming on a slow track at the Sunshine Coast.
“He goes very well on the soft tracks, but I think he is pretty handy on top
of the ground,” said trainer Trevor Bailey.
“His dam (Sunny Ray) could gallop, my father (Alan Bailey) trained her.”
“She won 5 races, 4 of them on firmer tracks, so I wouldn’t underestimate
this bloke on top of the ground.”
Saturday’s win took Trevor Bailey a step closer to claiming third place in
the Gold Coast trainers premiership.
With Alan Bailey holding and unassailable lead with 32 wins from Gillian
Heinrich on 23, most interest lies in the battle for third place.
Bryan Guy is currently placed third with 19 wins, just ahead of Trevor
Bailey on 17 wins who has closed the gap considerably over the past few
weeks.
