January, 2010:
Trevor Bailey was quick to get into gear for 2010 with a double at Doomben
today with Tristabrave and Moonan Kathleen.
The opening leg of the double came in the Class 3 (1350m) with promising
four year-old Tristabrave recording an impressive victory.
Perfectly ridden by Joe Bowditch, Tristabrave tracked nicely into the race
on the fence before pushing out to score a comfortable 1.5 len win victory.
Tristabrave has been lightly raced, winning 2 of his 7 starts, with the
promise of more to come.
The Falbrav four year-old is owned by a large group of owners, and was
selected and purchased as a yearling by Grant Morgan.
Among Tristabrave’s owners is Gold Coast Titan’s Managing Director Michael
Searle.
The second leg of the double arrived when Moonan Kathleen held off all
challengers to score over the short course of 1030m.
Today’s victory extended Moonan Kathleen’s record to 4 wins and 3 placings
from 12 career starts.
Moonan Kathleen is owned by prominent racing and harness racing identity
Chris Garrard.
Garrard is also the principal of Garrards Horse and Hound Veterinary
Practices which are located throughout Australasia.
