Tristabrave Rewards Owners Patience
22 July,
2009: Falbrav three year-old Tristabrave put behind a frustrating
opening to his racing career to reward patient connections with an
impressive win at Eagle Farm today.
Partnered by in form jockey Scott Galloway, Tristabrave settled well back in
the field of 11 giving his rivals some 8 lengths start straightening for
home.
Despite a slack mid race tempo, Tristabrave unleashed a sustained burst in
the straight to score a commanding one length win.
Prepared at the Gold Coast by Trevor Bailey, Tristabrave was purchased out
of the 2007 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale draft of top New Zealand nursery,
Windsor Park.
He is out of former outstanding New Zealand two year-old Tristachine (by Sir
Tristram).
Today’s victory came at Tristabraves fourth career start.
On debut last December at Eagle Farm, Tristabrave was flattened at the start
when fifth behind the smart Gundy Sun.
Tristabrave was then sent for a break after a hairline fracture of the
cannon bone was detected.
He resumed from a 25 week spell at the Gold Coast in May, before striking
himself in the gates, passing a vet inspection and finishing sixth on a
heavy track.
At his next start, Tristabrave faced another soft track finishing fifth at
the Gold Coast, showing a dislike for the yielding surface.
Today’s firm track and patient riding tactics paid dividends for
Tristabraves large group of owners, which includes Jetstar Gold Coast Titans
CEO, Michael Searle.
