6 January 2011:
Gold
Coast trainer Trevor Bailey will open a satellite stable at the New South
Wales Central Coast track of Wyong next week.
The 15 box stable will be managed by former Paul Perry foreman Keyren
Forbes.
Bailey is no stranger to the area after growing up in Wyong at a
time when his father Alan Bailey was a leading trainer at the track before
relocating to the Gold Coast in the eighties.
“Wyong is an ideal location being within an hour of most of the major tracks
around Sydney,” said Bailey who finalised plans for the stable this week.
“It also has good access for our Queensland clients with direct flights to
Newcastle from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
“The Wyong Club
has been very receptive to the new stable and I have been very impressed
with the facilities.
“The track is in great condition and I’m looking forward to training there.”
With
the big wet continuing to besiege Queensland, the new Wyong stable may
provide welcome relief for some members of Bailey’s team in need of firmer
tracks.
Bailey will continue to prepare a 30 horse team from his main Gold Coast
base
