The Hunter Valley is renown for
champion thoroughbreds and great wine. Join us for out sixth annual Hunter
Valley Horse & Wine Tour, a wonderful 3 night/4 day adventure in horse and
wine country.
Our home away from home during the tour will be the fabulous CYPRESS
LAKES RESORT RESORT
(5 star) in the heart of wine country in the beautiful the Pokolbin Valley.
Guests have the choice of luxury 1 or 2 bedroom Villas, on a single, twin or
quad share basis. The quad share option is ideal for friends travelling in
small groups of 4 (perfect for two couples), with each 2 bedroom Villa
boasting huge master bedrooms with elegant ensuites, and extensive living
areas.
The 2009 tour will be hosted by Ontrack Thoroughbreds own GRANT MORGAN
and Women In Racing's JENNIE BARTELS. Our special guest tour host is
former champion international jockey BRENT THOMSON.
This year the tour features a visit to the historic WIDDEN STUD, the
oldest family run commercial stallion station in Australia. A visit to the
picturesque Widden Valley is a must do for any racing enthusiast. Always
popular on our Hunter Valley Tour is a visit to one of Australia's leading
farms in John Messara's ARROWFIELD STUD. Arrowfield is the home of champion
sire Redoute's Choice, whilst John Messara was voted the most
influential person in Australian Racing and Breeding. We will also visit the palatial
COOLMORE STUD, home of Encosta De Lago and leading first season sire Fastnet Rock.
After a successful buyout of the Woodlands Operation, we take in the
expanded DARLEY
STUD at Aberdeen, home to the great Lonhro.
For those looking for some good wine and great food, then the tour covers
all bases. We visit LINDEMAN'S BEN EAN WINERY and SADDLERS
CREEK WINES for wine tasting. All meals are included in the tour
packages. The group will enjoy quality meals throughout the tour.
For those looking to relax,
there will be plenty of time to enjoy and explore the beautiful surrounds of
the Pokolbin Valley. CYPRESS LAKES RESORT boasts a championship 18
Hole Golf Course and a Golden Door Health Spa. With a late check out on
Monday, guests will have plenty of time to enjoy some Golf or a Spa, or why
not take in some of the other local attractions nearby.
The tour group will fly with
Virgin Blue out of Brisbane bound for Newcastle, before embarking on a
luxury road coach. Drive/Fly Yourself Options are also available for guests
wishing to make their own way to the Pokolbin Valley by either road or
alternate flights. Direct flights to Newcastle Airport are also available
from Melbourne & Adelaide. The tour welcomes
couples and singles, and provides wonderful opportunities to meet new
friends and also renew old ones.
