NEW ZEALAND HORSE & WINE TOUR 2009
November 26 to December 1 2009 (5 nights, 6 days)
New Zealand
has been long regarded as the breeding ground for some of the best
thoroughbreds in Australasia. Join us on a 6 day 5 night tour of New
Zealand's rich breeding country in the Waikato/Cambridge area of the North
Island.
The tour group will stay 3 nights in Auckland at the exclusive Sebel Suites,
located right on Auckland harbour in the trendy Viaduct district. During our
stay in Auckland, we take in the Ellerslie Races, dining in the well
appointed 'Chairman's Club'.
The Auckland visit will also feature a day trip to one of New Zealand’s
premier wine growing regions in Waiheke Island, a short 30 minute ferry ride
from Auckland. Our visit to Waiheke Island will feature wine tasting and
lunch at the picturesque Mudbrick Vineyard which enjoys breathtaking views
back to the Auckland skyline.
Our stud visits take in New Zealand's best nurseries', the feature being Sir
Patrick Hogan's Cambridge Stud. We also inspect Waikato Stud, Windsor Park
Stud, Rich Hill Stud, The Oaks Stud and Westbury Stud. Throughout the tour
we will be using luxury air conditioned road coaches making our brief time
on the road most enjoyable. The second half of the tour has us staying at
the Novotel Tainui at Hamilton, located just a short drive from the
Waikato/Cambridge.
The tour will be hosted by Ontrack Thoroughbreds Grant Morgan, together with
the widely travelled Jennifer Bartels of Women In Racing. Our special guest
host on the tour is Sky Channel’s Alan Thomas, Queensland’s leading
racecaller.
During the tour all transport, accommodation, meals and tours are included.
We fly with Emirates with flight options available from Brisbane, Sydney and
Melbourne. A fly yourself option is also available for those wanting to
arrange their own flights to compliment the tour itinerary.
The tour group is limited to just 25 guests, so book now to secure your
place and avoid disappointment.
